Peter Engel is President of Fred Meyer Jewelers, Inc. Founded in 1973, Fred Meyer Jewelers is the nation’s fourth largest fine jewelry company with 425 stores in 34 states, which includes 304 stores in malls and 121 inside the Fred Meyer multi-department stores, which are part of The Kroger Co., the nation’s largest grocery store chain. Fred Meyer Jewelers is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fred Meyer, Inc.

Peter started with Fred Meyer Jewelers in 1981 as a Sales Associate. In 1986, he became a manager and in November of 1993, was promoted to Regional Supervisor. During the acquisition of Littman Jewelers in 1998, Peter was promoted to Vice President of Operations on the East Coast. In January of 2001, Peter moved to Portland, Oregon and assumed the position of Group Vice President of Store Operations. In March of 2005, Peter was promoted to President of Fred Meyer Jewelers.

Peter plays an active role in the Oregon Chapter of CASA for Children and serves on the Board of Directors of Jewelers for Children. He is also on the Board of Advisors for VNU Expositions.
