Diamond Council of America Partners With Diamond Promotion Service / Warga-Arias To Publish Leaders Guide

Step by step guide to enhance training and graduation rates for DCA members…

NASHVILLE, TN: The Nashville, Tennessee based Diamond Council of America has announced plans to publish a "Leaders Guide" as a compendium to their popular distance education diamond course. The publication provides a detailed "road map" allowing owners and managers to facilitate their students understanding of the material and successful completion of DCA's well known diamond course.

A grant from the Diamond Promotion Service and the editorial guidance of Diane Warga-Arias made the publication a reality for the Diamond Council. "We are grateful to the DPS and Dianne Warga-Arias. They shared our enthusiasm for this project and generously helped us with funding and editorial input." said Chandler. He added, "The issue in education and training is retention, completion and, utilization of the material at the counter to create business! Our new Leaders Guide will enhance all three and provide our member's and their associates maximum benefit from their study."

The guide, written for DCA by Janice Talcott and Kate Peterson of Performance Concepts, gives trainers and managers a detailed review of every chapter of DCA's diamond course and provides direction and support for store meetings and for total implementation of the material "at the counter".

As a bonus, the guide, available to DCA members within the next sixty days, also includes a "train the trainer" outline explaining effective teaching techniques and implementation.

The Diamond Council's diamond course consists of twenty-two chapters of study, four examinations and, a comprehensive final examination. The course focuses both on diamond selling and product knowledge.

The Diamond Council of America, representing over 2000 jewelry stores, is a not-for-profit education organization that has been training retail and industry associates since 1944. Terry Chandler, DCA President, stated, "The Diamond Council of America is the Industries "community college". Our courses serve both as the foundation of a "life-long" learning effort by entry level jewelry professionals as well as an excellent continuing educational tool for veterans."
